Training

TREC works with a range of organisations to increase understanding and awareness about trans issues, and the everyday experiences of trans people.

Our training sessions are aimed at all managers and staff and are designed to foster and attitude of confidence and respect with regards to addressing people with a trans or gender variant background.  Attendees are introduced to key topics pertaining to trans people and their identities, communities and lives.  The sessions provide best practice guidance and legal information through a visual/oral presentation, group activities and real-life scenarios.

Feedback shows that participants leave our training sessions better equipped to engage with trans people respectfully, appropriately and confidently.

"This is the best training I have ever been to, every member of staff should have trans awareness training"  -University of Manchester employee (HR)

"The training was excellent - the only thing I would improve would be to make it longer!"  -Royal Northern College of Music Lecturer

"I think this training is interesting, relevant, helfpul and very well presented.  I'm glad I attended.  It was really helpful having the training from someone who could talk in an engaging way and from personal experience"     -Manchester City Council employee (Housing and Homelessness)

Interested in having trans awareness training?  We can build a training session according to your specific needs.
