Guest Speaker: Ingo

Our guest for May will be Ingo from Wotever World. The meeting will be taking place on Friday 18th May 2012, from 7pm - 9pm at the usual venue - Lesbian Gay Foundation, 5 Richmond Road, Manchester. M1 3HF. The venue is fully accessible and is centrally located, just off Canal Street. We hope to see you there.
Ingo from Wotever World started the adventure back in 2003 with some mates, when we felt we needed a space and a place where we all could go out and flirt. Being different genders and having a wide range of desires, it was hard to find one space that fitted everyone's taste and made us all feel equally safe, seen and admired ;-) Hence Club Wotever....

As Ingo has a background in theatre and event management, it was clear from the start that performance on stage was a big part of the events. Dressing up was encouraged, Flirting outside the box cheered and many venues were tested, as the toilets had to be unisex AND they were given extra points if they were comfy and cool to fuck in.

Many years on, Ingo is the creative director for this now mega talented and flexible event laboratorium...Wotever World create Social Networking events in real life, our Bar Wotever nights at RVT in London are on weekly and always include performance, community news and a faire share of message swapping. Entry has stayed free for all the SEVEN years this weekly night have been open, and over the years we have seen Queer Superstars as well as many beginners and cross over performance artists on stage. Big space is also given to Queer Wellbeing, like raising awareness of Sexual Health, drugs, further education, bullying, obswapping and in general info re gender and sexuality.

Outside Bar Wotever and our London based performance nights, Wotever World have been travelling a lot. We have created events and parties in Stockholm, Warsaw, San Francisco, Berlin, Glasgow and soon also in Manchester, (see below for more info)!!! We always work with local artists and venues, set it up and create a great party filled with heart!

At TREC, Ingo will talk more about Wotever World, how to do your own events, and will read the whole piece 'Fighting All Corners', their piece which was documented in the film 'Lovers and Fighters Convention' by Mike Wyeld. Then there will be time for questions when you can ask whatever you like, for example what pronoun Ingo uses, and why it's called Wotever.... Things like that is for you to soon find out!!

In the meantime, check out our website, follow us on twitter and/or facebook and be an active part of what is happening!!
