Three people from the Trans Resource and Empowerment Centre (TREC) will be in the village this evening from 6-9pm to discuss transphobic hate crime and hate incidents and to take reports.

Transphobic Hate Crime Reporting – Tonight! – Weds 30/12/09 from 6-9pm

A transphobic incident is any incident which is perceived to be transphobic by the victim or any other person. Some examples are physical attacks, verbal abuse, damage to property, offensive letters and leaflets, neighbour disputes, threats, abusive gestures, arson and so on.  If you have experienced a hate crime or hate incident, please come and speak with us so we can get it on record.

For more information about hate crime, see: http://www.gmp.police.uk/mainsite/hatecrime.htm

We will be “on call” in the village from 6-9pm. Our plan is to be in Taurus between 6-7pm and then we’ll head over to Manchester Concord at around 7:15pm. To speak with us, either call or text us on 07513 880647 or just stop by and see us. Look for the TREC logo.

Please pass this message along to all relevant contacts.
